Communicating With Your Doctor
While the doctors are in consultation, we try to keep interruptions to a minimum. Unfortunately this means that we can’t usually put phone calls through to the doctor, unless there is an emergency. If you phone reception you can leave a message.
Your doctor may use email to send documents and information, as long as you consent to this. Please remember that it is not ideal to contact your doctor by email for any clinical concerns, as we cannot guarantee a timely response. It is better to book an appointment for any clinical questions, or contact emergency services if it is urgent.
How Can I Obtain My Results?
Please make an appointment with your doctor to discuss all results. Results are not usually communicated via email or phone. Non-medical staff at Royal Park Medical are not able to discuss your results with you due to privacy and confidentiality.
Can I Request Repeat Scripts And Repeat Referrals?
The doctors accept online requests for repeat prescriptions, and repeat referrals in certain circumstances. You can make the request online, for a small fee. Scripts can be sent by SMS, and referrals by email. Please request these from the doctor that knows you best.
Online requests are for repeat prescriptions of a medication that your GP has prescribed for you before. Some medications (especially controlled drugs) can not be prescribed without a consultation. If your doctor thinks a consultation is needed, there will be no charge and you will receive a message to say the script could not be issued.
For online referrals, it needs to be for a doctor you have previously been referred to by us. If you have not been in to see us for some time, we may not be able to issue it without doing some further checks.
Do You Offer CDM GP Care Plans?
For eligible patients with chronic medical conditions, your doctor and our nurses can coordinate team care.
Do You Offer Mental Health Care Plans?
The doctors practising at Royal Park Medical are experienced in providing mental health care services. This includes preparation of Mental Health Care Plans. Please speak to your doctor for further details.
Does Your Practice Use A Recall And Reminder System?
RPM uses a reminder system to help you and your doctor maintain your health. The practice sends reminders on behalf of your doctor — by post, email, telephone or SMS. The doctors at this practice also send information to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register and the Pap Smear Register. These registers may send you separate reminders. In addition, it is sometimes necessary for a clinician from RPM to contact patients if they become aware of an urgent health concern.
Is There On-Site Pathology
Dorevitch Pathology is open onsite for all pathology services.
Do You Recommend Any Radiology Providers?
There are a number of highly reputable radiology providers in the area. Your doctor can discuss these options with you depending on which tests you require.
